ALIAS | saya's really not a huge fan of nicknames. people can give her one if they want, but she'll fight tooth and nail to get you to stop (though most people don't) AGE & BIRTHDATE | sixteen & june 3. It's often a bit wavy, and to keep strands other than her bangs from falling in her face, she wears ribbons to hold it back. EYE | unlike most water benders, her eyes are green. They're closet to a pale green though than the vibrant earth bender green. ATTIRE | saya really just wears whatever she finds herself comfortable in. She currently does not have a sub bending skill, but hopes to be taught one. SKILLS | None, really. She wasn't trained to fight at all (she wasn't even trained to bend, hence learning so late). She's not completely helpless though -- growing up with a brother she knows how to hold her own. Her water bending skills are minimal. She can manipulate small bits of it, move it around, but she can't use it for any sort of combat or clever tricks other than to drop a sphere of water on someone's head. However, she's determined to find a teacher and learn both. WEAPONS | No weapons. PET | currently n/a your skin is burning at the sight of me HISTORY | Saya was born in Republic City to a non-bending mother and a water bender father. She has roots and some family back in the Southern Water Tribe, where her father was born and raised, however, she has never met them. Her childhood was pretty average until the age of six, at which point she started showing her first signs of water bending ability. Her father, recognizing it immediately, promised to train her himself. Before they could get too far in the training though her father, being a former warrior for the southern Water Tribe, was called back home to train some of the others. Training turned into a battle, and they got a notice several weeks later that he hadn't survived. Saya didn't water bend for a long time after that. She had decided before her father left that he was the only one that would be allowed to teach her and therefore declined any attempts her mother made to get her a trainer. She knew her father was dead, she understood it, but she felt like it was a betrayal to learn from anyone else. So she waited, practicing on her own at the park and the beach and even her brother's water (much to his annoyance). What started as loyalty to her father turned into stubbornness. By the time she was ten, her reluctance to accept a teacher stemmed from her determination to learn on her own. She started bending larger quantities of water, though has never gotten particularly good at it. She can't freeze or unfreeze it, she can't manipulate large amounts of it, she can't use it for combat. All she can really do is move it around well enough to do a few well placed pranks if she feels like it.  It wasn't until she started getting really into pro bending that she decided to find herself a teacher and now, at the age of sixteen, she is currently pursuing one.
