Like all earth benders, he is a calm person that relies on a stable stance and the terrain to fight his battles. For a geokinetic bender, leg work is everything. The signature technique that Tadayoshi practices is known as Iwakuma style, where the user shapes the figure of a bear out of stone or earth and uses this puppet to fight, instead of moving by themselves. It is incredibly difficult to move a lifeless shape of earth, making it appear as though it had a life of its own. Tadayoshi's single, bending-related talent that sticks out is his ability to move big amounts of earth, a feat attributed to his mental fortitude. Focusing on this special style of bending has left him with a unique way of fighting, however, has kept him mastering sub-bending disciplines. WEAPONS → jian (double-edged, straight sword. heirloom.) PET → no pet your skin is burning at the sight of me HISTORY → Tadayoshi stems from a family of earth benders. Since their ancestors could remember, they lived in the mountains, far away from civilization. Only rarely did wanderers come across the village, and technological progress has not yet reached the reclusium in the mountains. From an early age, Tadayoshi was subjected to daily training, meditation and physical excercise. His nature was different from the one his parents expected, however. He was much more impulsive and fire-willed, blessed with a mind that sought to wander out into the world, than his parents would have liked. He liked to run off into the mountains by himself. He would skip training sessions and be restless during meditation. During his young teens, eventually, even after his parents punished him harshly, he decided to follow the stories of the outside world and ran away. All he packed was the bending scroll of his father, the man's sword and provisions. The world is a colourful place, and Tadayoshi wanted to see it all. The great tale of a big city, of a United Republic met him as soon as he left the mountains, and he walked there. It was a sight to see. For an outsider, more than anyone. The lights. The smell. The cosmopolitan flare... He followed nothing but his selfish emotions. On his journey to become a man, all of his father's teachings were forgotten. He picked up bad habits, such as drinking, and causing trouble and fights. From the sea-side villages of the Water Tribes to the red cities of the Fire Nation, he toured the world and traveled, either by himself or the possibilities that arose, such as ships, caravans or trecks. All the challenges.. Brawling wasn't enough anymore, at some point. He started to participate in a dangerous trend that had picked up in war-torn times; bending duels. The rush he felt when fighting filled him with life like nothing ever had. As it is with illegal activities, an innocent person became involved, and the lashing of adoloscent benders  It was his twenty-second birthday when the guilt became over-bearing. Sleep had left him weeks ago, and he was a mental wreck. Exhausted from his travels and finally caught up by how far he had moved from the ideal his father had wanted him to forge into. It was then that a message reached the young man, a letter delivered by a white-robed man, who disappeared as swift and silently as he had appeared. Tadayoshi didn't question how this man had located him, but it didn't matter. Opening the letter, more important things took priority. He was asked to return home, the letter, signed by a friend of the family. His father had passed away. On the way back to his mountain home, memories of a different kind were his travel companion. He questioned the path his rebellion had taken and why he had run from his home in the first place. Grief mixed with pain and loss, and his arrogance was finally broken. Stepping foot upon the lowest layer of mountains he would have to climb in order to make it to his home, for the first time in his adult life, he remembered fear.
