A wooden ship drifted along the horizon line against a bright blue sky. A blue haired female stood gazing out the vast blue waters. Her elbows rested on the wooden rail, her hands supporting up her face. Her deep blue eyes watched as the water moved to the disruption of the ship's sailing. The female's right hand moved past the rail, her palm facing down towards the water. The surface reflected the hand back, only to ripple unnaturally then rise up toward the female's hand. The female's lips twitched into a small smile. Her fingers flexed ever so slightly, the water listened to her commands, moving in midair, hovering right below her hand.

"Land Ho!" yelled a man. The sudden voice starled the young lady and broke her concentration with the water. She watched was the water splashed back to its home. She looked up and saw the beautiful city right on the horizon line. She gasped, almost taken away by the beauty of it. She had never seen something so extraordinary. "Wow..." whispered the female. It was all she could manage. Behind her, a man emerged from below the deck. He walked up to the female, nearly starling her when he spoke. "That's the so called city?" he scoffed. "Not so impressive. Just like you Oceanus." Female looked away, her brows furrowed together as she touched her necklace that the same man had given her. "B-but.. it's... it's so-" then she was cut off by a raise of hand, which made Oceanus cringe. "Spit it out woman." ordered the man.

Oceanus swallowed hard. "It's... different, Kemono." said the female. She feared him. "Look me in the eyes." said Kemono. Oceanus nervously looked up, her eyes wide. "Good. You should always look in the eyes when you're talking to someone. Its for your own good." spat the man. Oceanus wanted to tear her eyes away from the man. "Get ready, we'll be landing soon and I want you on your best behavior." Oceanus silently nodded. Kemono stood there waiting. Oceanus knew what she had to do. "Yes... my love." said the female quietly and gave him a kiss on the cheek. It was something that he had forced her to do. She wasn't comfortmble with it. But she had to, because if she didn't, he would threaten to send that firebender back.

Oceanus walked away from the man. Releived to be away from him for a few minutes. She smoothed out her kimono and straightened out her obi. She checked to make sure her hair was styled in the way she wanted it to be. She decided to use few of this moments to admire more of the city as it loomed closer and closer. Finally the ship rolled onto the docks. Before Oceanus could realize it, her wrist was gripped by Kemono as if she was a child about to run away. Oceanus was overwhelmed by the noise. It was so much noisy compared to the quite frozen tundra. She was dragged off the ship onto the docks. "Hmp. Looks like your bodyguard that's assigned is a no show. When he finally shows up, I'm gonna tell him that he better start shaping up. So pathetic. I'll also tell him he'll have his hands full with you. You're not perfect little lady. You're so much trouble." said Kemono with digust. His grip on her arm far tighter than it needed to be. "S-stop it. You're.. you're hurting me." said the female but the male paid no heed to a word that she was saying.

the things that you might like don't grow inside of me The sun beat down on the parked black car as it just sat there for hours. The driver, a Mr. Chao Qiang, had someone he needed to pick up and, as that said person’s future butler, was quite early. 2 hours, to be precise. He had parked by the docks, but off to the side and slightly out of site, but he stood next to the car with a telescope, eyeing the horizon for his Master, a Princess from the Water tribe. The details of the job were… shaky, but about all he knew was that he needed to be the Princess’s butler and protect her from any harm. He was asked for by name, so that meant something, he supposed. Then he saw it. In the distance was the vessel. A light wooden boat approached slowly and he could spy onto the ship slightly. He saw a light blue haired girl, which was the Princess, and some… male. Someone he was not informed of. He couldn’t really see all the details, but he could see them approaching. He waited for the boat to begin docking before he approached, taking shelter from the heat in the slight shadow the ship cast. That’s when he started to hear things of the worst kind. A male voice speaking to, who he could only assume to be, the Princess in a rather rough and rude manner. Before the exchange of words was complete, Chao stomped a foot onto the ground and caused a platform of earth to rise up to be equally as high as the side of the boat. With one swift motion, an earth bridge extended onto the boat and he walked across. Terribly sorry for any wait I may have caused you, ma’lady. I’ve been here for hours, only to still cause you to wait. Chao said as he knelt before the Princess, placing a hand across his chest and over his heart. He raised slowly before gesturing with his head at the ship workers to place the Princess’s bags on the platform he had made. Princess, if you will, the car is this way. Sir Escort, thank you for seeing the Princess to me, where she can be kept safe. I will protect her with my life. Chao stated, motioning the Princess onto the platform and away from the man. The last bit was meant to be a sly, biting remark. Almost undetectable to anyone below a higher level of intelligence. Once both Chao and the Princess were aboard the platform, along with her luggage; Chao bowed slightly and clicked a foot on the ground which retracted the bridge and lowered the platform. Once on land again, he took the Princess’s bags and returned to the car with her. Who was that, ma’lady? If you don’t mind my asking, that is. @tag

The female nearly jumped into the air as soon a male instantly appeared into view. Kemono wasn't prepared for a man to appear so suddenly either since he released his grip on Oceanus, a bright red mark on her wrist was left behind. Oceanus pulled her arm to her chest. Oceanus' eyes were entranced on the... bridge that the male created. So, this was earth bending. Never in her life had she seen other forms of bending other than the fire from the fire bender that attacked her that one night. "Terribly sorry for any wait I may have caused you, ma’lady. I’ve been here for hours, only to still cause you to wait." said the male.

Oh, this man is her butler. Who was supposed to protect her during her stay in the city. She smiled and started to speak that it was okay and that she didn't mind and also that he didn't really need to kneel or well... anything. Kemono, of course spoke over her. "You should be sorry all right," he turned to Oceanus, "Such a shame that I won't be able to stay with you. I would've taken a better care of you." said the male, a dangerous tone hidden in his voice. "If I ever find out you did something wrong here, I will find out. So. Behave." whispered the male as he grabbed her wrist once again and pushed her forward toward the butler. Oceanus tried to remain stable as she was being pushed forward. Kemono let out a laugh. "She can be so clumsy sometimes." The female's cheeks blushed, now embarrassed. "Princess, if you will, the car is this way. Sir Escort, thank you for seeing the Princess to me, where she can be kept safe. I will protect her with my life." said the man.

Oceanus looked surprised. No one had dared to talk to Kemono like that. She smiled to herself, she decided that she liked this man. She walked onto the platform. Then her jet-black dire wolf appeared from behind Kemono and followed after Oceanus. She felt more safe. Kemono hated her dire wolf. The butler somehow made the platform lower down to ground level. Oceanus was amazed by this. Oceanus followed after Chao who now had her bags. She looked back to see Kemono dipleased, probably with the last remark. She didn't even say goodbye to him. Maybe he had done that on purpose because in a way, it made her feel like he was always with her. She shuddered and looked away. "Who was that, ma’lady? If you don’t mind my asking, that is." the butler asked once they arrived at the... black... contraption. Oceanus blinked, distracted momentarily by the black contraption. She was very curious about it.

She realized that she was quiet for too long. "O-oh.. I'm sorry... U-uhmm.." Oceanus thought about Kemono. Who is he indeed? "His name is Kemono. He's... not a p-pleasant character. He's supposed to be m-my..." Oceanus thought about it. "Ne-nevermind, that part's not important." said the female, perhaps she could have a new start here. Away from him. No one here needed to know about her engagement. Oceanus' hand lowered, her dire wolf nudging at it. She smiled and gently petted her pet. "U-uhm.. You don't have to do the formalities. You can call me Oceanus, if you want. And this is Animus. He's my pet dire wolf." said the female, introducing her jet black pet with bright blue eyes. Oceanus and Animus grew up together basically. She found him as a puppy, injured in the snow when she was only nine. She healed him and they've been inseparable ever since. "I hope you don't mind a big dog." said the female, smiling gently.

the things that you might like don't grow inside of me Chao smirked slightly when he and the Princess reached the car, but only for a moment. He had to focus on getting the Princess, and her dire wolf it would seem, home safe and sound. So it seemed that rude man was Kemono and was, as the Princess stated, a rude person. It showed. Chao started loading up the car and took the time to really look at the Princess. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. He could feel his heart racing just from looking at her. If only… He thought, which put a slight smile on his face. His head shot up as the Princess said he could drop the formalities. That was… shocking, almost. Most people loved it. As you wish… Oce… Please forgive me, Oceanus. I’m not used to calling my master by their names. He said with a gentle, almost embarrassed smile as he finished loading the car. Oh, and pets are fine, as long as you want them there. All is for you, my Mas… Oceanus. He answered the girl’s question as he circled around the car and opened the door for the Princess and her wolf. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Not because that’s, more or less, what he was supposed to do; but because he was… entranced in her. Her smile was amazing, captivating. He caught little hints of her scent and it was intoxicating. The war could wage for an eternity and, as long as he was with her; Chao wouldn’t care. He had to snap out of his fantasies. He had work to do. Once both the princess and her wolf were safely aboard, Chao circled back to the driver’s side, climbed in, and set off for the house they would be staying in. So, Princ… Oceanus, is there anything in particular you’d like me to do as your butler to make you feel comfortable? He asked as he drove, but shortly added something to his question. Oh and… I saw how ‘Kemono’ was with you. Don’t worry about him. I’ll protect you. The Tribe tasked me with protecting you from anything and everything. Keep you from danger. And he’s… He doesn’t look safe. He spoke seriously, but he quickly peeked over at the princess and smiled softly. Anything you want to see while we’re out? @tag

Oceanus only smiled when the male struggled to call her by her birth name. "As you wish… Oce… Please forgive me, Oceanus. I’m not used to calling my master by their names." said the male. Oceanus only nodded, the small smile still on her face. She saw his smile and all she could think of was how nice his smile is. She waited politely as her new butler loaded the car. She didnt have much things. Just clothes and dresses and essentials really. The biggest thing she probably had was a dog pillow for Animus. "Oh, and pets are fine, as long as you want them there. All is for you, my Mas… Oceanus." said the male. Oceanus was relieved. She'd hate for her beloved pet to sit outside exposed to the weather. Granted, her dire wolf could make it through but Oceanus didn't like it.

Oceanus decided to redirect her attention from the male to the city. It was full of things she had never seen before in her life. IT was so forgein and so... darkly colored compared to her white pristine home. She was excited but at the same time, she was terrified of the unknown. Animus nudged at her hand, bring her attention down to the dire wolf who was heading to the opened door of the black contraption. Oceanus followed her pet's lead and climbed into the unknown hole. Her eyes wide, she looked around the interior as Chao closed the door. Chao climbed into the other side. Oceanus was lost, she didn't know what to do in here. She jumped as soon the started setting off for their destination. How in the world did this thing move? Earthbending? "So, Princ… Oceanus, is there anything in particular you’d like me to do as your butler to make you feel comfortable?" asked the man.

The aquamarine haired female looked at him. "N-not that I know off..." whispered the female, afraid her voice might get too loud in this small container. "Oh and… I saw how ‘Kemono’ was with you. Don’t worry about him. I’ll protect you. The Tribe tasked me with protecting you from anything and everything. Keep you from danger. And he’s… He doesn’t look safe." said the male. Oceanus' smile disappeared. No one had ever done that before. No one ever suspected that Kemono was so two-faced. "Ah.. well.. thank you. You're the first to know that he is not a polite man." said the female softly. Her face turning to the window next to her. She was surprised to see many people strolling through this city. There were other contraptions like the one she was in and it came in different colors. "Anything you want to see while we’re out?" asked the male.

Oceanus looked back to the man. Her face probably holding an expression of bewilderment. As if what she was seeing is all but a dream. "I... I don't know where to begin. I've ne-never seen anything like this before." She was referring to the environment. "I mean... how does this... contraption work? Do you earthbend it forward? Magic? I'm dying to know." said the female. Then she realized she never really knew his name. Oceanus tried to remember the name that her father had told her back home. Chang? Chin? Chinny? no. Chao. "Also, you don't have to call me by my birth name if you don't really want to. I don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything. Your name is.. Chao right?" asked the princess.

the things that you might like don't grow inside of me Chao smiled. Not the soft smile he had been wearing before, but a smile of almost laughter. The Princess was so cute. She’d obviously never been in a car before and didn’t know that she could talk normally. So cute. Apparently Chao was the first person to see through Kemono’s façade, a title he’d proudly wear. Anything for you, Lady Oceanus. The butler replied when she thanked him for being about to see the forest for the trees. Chao drove slowly, so as to allow the Princess to view the sights as best she could. He’d lived in Republic City his whole life, so the sights were nothing. Oceanus’s reaction to Chao’s question was absolutely adorable to him. He could almost feel himself falling… in… love. That was bad. He couldn’t fall for her. She was his master. He had to put being a butler before his… personal feelings. Back in the bottle for those. He shook his head slightly to regain composure before even attempting to answer the Princess’s questions. Though he had his “composure”, his cheeks were still lightly pink tinted. Well… This is a car and it works with mechanical parts. I’m not sure how, but it does. No bending or magic. He answered with a small smile as he rounded a corner, the house drawing nearer. His smile widened a bit when Oceanus began asking what his name was and if she should even call him that. You may call me whatever you wish, Lady Oceanus. I am your’s to do with as you please. However, Chao Qiang is my name. I beg your forgiveness for not having introduced myself earlier… He answered, legitimate regret on his voice. How could he forget? He was so focused on slyly stabbing Kemono verbally that he completely forgot. Then they arrived at the house they’d be staying in. Plenty of room. Low-key, but in a pretty good neighborhood. A perfect place to keep the princess safe. This is where we’ll be staying, Lady Oceanus. He said before climbing out of the car, circling around and opening the door for his Master. This way, ma’lady. He bowed before showing the girl and her wolf to the house door, then returned to the car for her baggage. Please, look around and choose your room. I’ll drop your bags there. His heart was beating so fast. He’d be living with her. Stuck in this purgatory. He wanted to do something, but couldn’t. He had no chance with a Princess. Not some lowly butler. @tag

Oceanus listened to every word he said now. For the mystery of this contraption will be solved. "Well… This is a car and it works with mechanical parts. I’m not sure how, but it does. No bending or magic." said Chao. Oceanus only blinked at him for a moment or two. "...oh.." She sounded disappointed. No magical bending to make this thing move. Mechanical parts just sounded... odd. She absently-minded rubbed at her right wrist which still bore the red mark left by Kemono, a reminder that he was still there somehow. She had other reminders too but that was not something to think about now. "You may call me whatever you wish, Lady Oceanus. I am your’s to do with as you please. However, Chao Qiang is my name. I beg your forgiveness for not having introduced myself earlier…" said the male, soudning regretful.

She placed a hand on his upper arm as if to comfort him. "It's alright. I'm just glad you whisk me away from him." said the female, offering him a warm gentle smile. "I'm really grateful for that. I think I'll call you Chao. It's a really nice name." whispered the princess. She widened her eyes as the came to a stop. She instantly looked at a row of houses. Oh boy, which one was hers? Animus let out a bark that seemed to echo in the car, apparently he did not like cars. "Shh. It's okay boy." said Oceanus in a calming voice that was reserved for animals and children. "This is where we’ll be staying, Lady Oceanus." said Chao. She smiled as she stared at the house in front of her. "It's nice." said the female as she stepped out of the car with Animus following out behind. "This way, ma’lady." gesturing to the front door, she nodded and walked ahead, leaving Chao behind to retrieve her luggage. She'd get some herself but she was all stick and bones. She probably couldn't lift a decent sized rock if she wanted to.

She headed into the house, overwhelmed by the fully furnished house already. She wasn't used to this style of living. Things were more colorful and decorated. Back home it was white and blue. And cold. She was very oddly warm in here. Her kimono was not designed for this kind of warmth and weather in this city. "Please, look around and choose your room. I’ll drop your bags there." said the male. OCeanus nodded and walked deeper into the house. The house had a central staircase leading up to the second floor. She assumed that was where the bedrooms are. She climbed the stairs and explored all of the rooms. Until she finally settled on the door that was directly across from the stairs. "I'll pick this room." said the female as she headed inside. The room was somewhat open space which was what Ocenaus liked. Vast as an ocean. She didn't like being crammed up. Oceanus opened a door within her room which apparently lead into a bathroom that was shared with another room. She looked surprised. "Maybe this should be your room." said the female, smiling when she looked at Chao. What better room than the one connected directly to hers if the butler's job was to protect her? "Would that be alright?" asked the female.

He smiled a bit when she resolved to call him by his given name, something he wasn’t expecting. She was very… non-princess-y for a princess. He was, honestly, expecting someone who was rude and self-centered, but this girl was neither. While his mind wandered, his eyes followed the girl as she moved. He really couldn’t take his eyes off of her. He only snapped out of his daydream when the woman stated that his room should be the one that connected to her’s via the bathroom. He nodded and followed up the stairs, baggage in hand. I would be honored, Lady Oceanus. He smiled at the woman as he placed her luggage inside the door to her room. You must be tired, ma’lady. Or hungry. You’ve traveled quite a lot. Is there anything I can do for you? He asked the girl, bowing slightly. If you’d like, I can run you a bath and unpack your bags. Or… or… I don’t know. Whatever you’d like to do, we can make it happen. He said with a smile. His heart was pounding. Every time he bowed in front of her, he could just barely smell her. That smell… it ate at him. He wanted her to be his, but that could never happen. Not in a million years. Plus, from what he remembered, she was quite a few years his junior. Damn. What a shame. @tag

"I would be honored, Lady Oceanus." said Chao as placed her luggage inside her room. "You must be tired, ma’lady. Or hungry. You’ve traveled quite a lot. Is there anything I can do for you?" asked the male as he bowed slightly. "If you’d like, I can run you a bath and unpack your bags. Or… or… I don’t know. Whatever you’d like to do, we can make it happen. He said with a smile. Oceanus smiled right back. That was when she really noticed how.. handsome this man is. She caught something that marked him as unique. His hetrochrome eyes. Once was red, the other blue. She really liked them.

"You know Chao, your smile is really nice... and your eyes are beautiful." said the princess softly before realizing what she said. She let out a soft sheepish chuckle, her cheeks glazing with light pink. "Anyways, about the plans for now... I want to see the city and have a taste of the food here." said the female sounding like a tourist already. "I just have to change out of these awful thick kimono..." muttered the female as she grabbed her nearby bag. "I'll be back soon Chao." said Oceanus as she disappeared into the bathroom to change into something lighter. She shredded her heavy kimono dress and placed on a teal dress with lighter fabric. The dress reached to her knees which was something new for Oceanus, who lived in the north her whole life. Even her dress had short sleeves. She felt very exposed yet Oceanus enjoyed the freedom of it. Her father had given this dress to her warning that it would be warmer in Republic City.

Oceanus opened the bathroom door slowly, as if she was too shy to let others see her with this simple dress. She finally opened the door fully and smiled at Chao. "I-i I may need to do some shopping... I don't really have clothes that's suited for this weather..." said the female shyly. She was sure that he wouldn't be too pleased to take his master shopping. Oceanus nervously fidgeted with the fabric of her dress. She couldn't get over his smile and eyes. And he treated her so much better that Kemono within minutes. Kemono used to be nice, when he gave her the betrothal necklace, he had been nice. But something changed in him and wanted power over love. She placed her fingers gently on top of her necklace. She made a decision. Oceanus reached behind her neck and took it off. Something she haven't done in a long time. And it felt good.

She placed the necklace gingerly on top of her dresser which would probably be filled with new clothes later on. She faced Chao and smiled as if no mental war in her mind never took place. "I'm ready."

the things that you might like don't grow inside of me Chao’s cheeks darkened slightly when Oceanus commented on his appearance. He had to divert his eyes slightly to regain what little composure he still had. She either knew and was teasing him, or had no idea and was still teasing him. Knowing or not, this girl was dangerous in her own way. Before he could even comment, he heard an embarrassed chuckle followed by more talking. He looked down to see that the Princess, too, had slightly pink cheeks. How… cute… This was dangerous. If… If he fell for this girl, the one he was to protect, his judgment might cloud. But he would protect her even better because of how he felt. Who knows? He listened to what Oceanus wanted to do, nodding slightly. She wished to see sights and taste local food. He had expected something to that effect. She wanted to change out of her thick kimono, which was a smart choice, so she departed into her room. Chao took the time he had alone to try and get his mind straight. His heart wasn’t helping that process, but he was trying his best. I can’t love her. I can’t have emotional attachment. I… But I think I do. She’s so beautiful and adorable and sweet. I should just… forget it. Bottle up my emotions and let them die out. Let the spark die. There’s no way she’d ever go for her butler. She’s a princess, I’m her servant. Keep that in mind, me. He waged war with himself internally, which apparently took about as long as it took Oceanus to change her clothes, as he snapped out of his internal war to see her before him once again. This time, she was in a much lighter, short dress. It looked phenomenal on her frame. Lady Oceanus, I will gladly take you wherever you wish to go. But, I will say, you look… stunning. The butler commented with a smile, little bits of those bottled emotions slipping by. If you are ready, then we shall head this way. I hope you don’t mind walking, I believe that to be the most scenic way. He said before leading the princess back outside and to the street. We aren’t far from a place my fa… father and I frequented, I’d like for you to try the food there, if you wish. We can stop to shop on the way there, unless you are hungry now. In either case, everything we need to do is this way. He enunciated before he began to lead the Princess down the street and towards the shopping district. @tag

"Lady Oceanus, I will gladly take you wherever you wish to go. But, I will say, you look… stunning." said Chao. That sentence did nothing but make her blush. She let out a giggle. "Oh thank you, sir~" said the female, doing a curtsey with her dress. She smiled widely, she couldn't remember the last time she had been this happy. She always wore a fake facade to hide her inner turmoil with Kemono. "If you are ready, then we shall head this way. I hope you don’t mind walking, I believe that to be the most scenic way." said the butler.

Oceanus nodded, smiling more. "I would actually prefer walking. I'm not sure if I liked... the black... car." said the girl quietly, unsure of what she really thought about the car. She was actually still quite confused by how it worked. She didn't have these... "mechanical gears" back home. Everything was done by hand or waterbending. Oceanus followed Chao out of the house only signaling Animus to stay behind. Oceanus felt like Animus would only bring attention or scare people away by the sheer size of him. "We aren’t far from a place my fa… father and I frequented, I’d like for you to try the food there, if you wish. We can stop to shop on the way there, unless you are hungry now. In either case, everything we need to do is this way." said the male before he lead Oceanus down the street. "I'm not too hungry yet, so we can shop for a while." said the girl, her hands holding behind her back.

She stuck awfully close to Chao. She didn't want to get separated from him, that'd be disastrous. Besides, there was other people walking in the same sidewalk too, leaving her no room for her to walk other than stick next to her butler. Eventually she got close enough that she had to naturally hold onto his arm. She hoped he won't mind. She smiled gently, still thinking about what Chao has said earlier. "Really... thank you about earlier. You done something that others haven't done in a long time. I'm glad you're with me." said the female, smiling softly. She looked away, a little embarrassed. Here she was telling this man deep things already and they haven't been together for more than a hour at the most. She felt she could trust him already. The two walked until they finally entered into a store that specifically made woman's clothing.

Oceanus wandered into the store, releasing her grasp on Chao's arm. She looked through the clothes, touching them softly. "I-i.. never really shopped before. I a-always had clothes made for me. I'm not sure what t-to do in here." said Oceanus nervously, looking at Chao hoping that he might be able to help her. Oceanus was just a little lost girl in a big city. She stood there, fidgeting with the skirt of her dress nervously.

He lead the girl, making sure to keep close to her (although she seemed content to stay close to him as well), for protection. Then she held on to his arm. Her touch was so gentle, so sweet. He never wanted her to let go. He wanted to walk forever so she’d always be holding onto him, but that couldn’t… wouldn’t happen. She’d probably let go once they were in a store. Chao was surprised when Oceanus thanked him for earlier once again. He looked down at the girl and smiled before answering. Ma’lady, I’ll be with you for as long as you want me there. I’m your’s, forever and ever if you wish. It was but only a little while before the two reached the shopping district, where Oceanus could pick out some appropriate clothing. If not for his butler attire, people might think the two were on a date or something. If only. The princess led the butler into a clothing store and started looking at the wares. Fine outfits that would suit the princess just fine. Oceanus seemed a tad overwhelmed by the whole experience, but Chao still found it strangely adorable and lovable. Ma’lady, you pick out clothing you think looks nice and you can try it on if you so wish. Once you have all the clothing you want to have, we pay for it, then leave. If you’d like, I can help you in any way you might need. He explained, bowing slightly. He turned and stared sifting through the clothing. If Chao kept up with his duties, Oceanus may just want to keep him with her. She wanted him forever, especially after how he dealt with Kemono. He was her little glimmer of hope in her hidden darkness. Forever and ever...? Huh, it sounds so nice to her ears. She didn't know any better but she was falling in love unaware. "Ma’lady, you pick out clothing you think looks nice and you can try it on if you so wish. Once you have all the clothing you want to have, we pay for it, then leave. If you’d like, I can help you in any way you might need." explained Chao.

Oceanus looked up at Chao, snapping from her inner thoughts. She nodded carefully and looked back to the clothing. But dresses on the other hand... well I've wore dresses all of my life. I guess it wouldn't hurt to get... shorts and shirts." said the female, feeling awkward as the words shorts and shorts were entirely foreign to her. Oceanus sifted through the racks, she never had this much control before. Before, people picked out what she wore for that day. She barely lifted a finger back home. Here, she was free to do anything she wanted to do. For once, she was free. She got her wings.

She smiled to herself and looked up at Chao. "Are all butlers like this? This kind and so... affectionate?" asked the girl, smiling still. Oceanus finally picked out a shirt that she liked and held it for a moment up to her chest, checking to see if size would fit her. It did so she tucked it under her arm as she sifted through the clothes once more to choose a few more. She then headed over to where shorts were. Oceanus picked out her blue denim shorts and she faced her butler. "U-uhmm can we return them if they don't fit me? I'm getting a little hungry and I don't really want to t-try them on.." said the female softly, her deep blue eyes looking into the heterochrome eyes. She thought about the forever and ever. "D-did you mean that you'd be with me for-forever and ever? Even if I went back ho-home? Back to the w-water tribe?" said the female. She didn't ever want to leave this man. Something told her to hold onto him for her dear life. "A..anyways... I-i think I'm done p-picking out my clothes." stuttered the female. She always stuttered whenever she got nervous or uncomfortable.

He was glad she was taking his advice to heart. Branching out as far as how she dressed would be nice. His mind started to wander, but he had to keep focused. He shook his head a bit and continued to sift through the clothing, only to have Oceanus break his focus once more. She asked if all butlers were like how he was acting with her. Chao’s cheeks darkened a bit. How could he answer this? Well, he couldn’t not answer. No, ma’lady. I don’t believe so. He answered, smiling at the girl. He caught a glimpse of her smile and his heart picked up. He was quickly becoming so attached to her. Almost too quickly. The girl left his side to go look at shorts, but quickly returned to ask a question about returns, as she was getting hungry. He patted her on the head softly, and stroked her hair just a bit. Yes, ma’lady, I’m sure we can. Let us go get some food in your stomach. He smiled as their eyes met. Then, another hard question. About forever and ever. How long could he be with her. I’ll be with you for as long as you want me, Lady Oceanus. I’d follow you to the ends of the world if you asked it of me. He answered, his cheeks turning a little darker. He had to maintain composure. Had to. He couldn’t let out the emotions he was bottling up. It wouldn’t end well. He’d only hurt both of them. Then I’ll pay for the clothing and we can leave. He said before walking to the counter and paying the owner, then returning to his master’s side. This way, ma’lady. There’s a nice restaurant just around the corner. He led the princess just up the street, offering her his arm along the way. The restaurant was a simple, small building that specialized in noodles and broth. Essentially, soups. The room, while not extravagant, was furnished lightly and about half-full of people. Chao let the girl to the counter and nodded to the clerk, then led Oceanus to a table for two and seated her, then took the seat across from her. They… kind of know me here. "No, ma’lady. I don’t believe so." said her butler when Oceanus asked if all butlers were like this. Oceanus tilted her head and smiled. Well she was glad that he treated her like this. She smiled as he patted on her head and stroked her hair ever so slightly. Ocenaus was sure this wasn't how he was supposed to act but, she didn't care. She hadn't been treated this well since she was a child. He may be only acting, since being her butler is his job but at least he made it convincing. "Yes, ma’lady, I’m sure we can. Let us go get some food in your stomach." said the male. She nodded, her stomach silently begging for food already.

"Then I’ll pay for the clothing and we can leave." said Chao. Oceanus was about to interject that she'd pay for it since it was hers. But she realized she didn't really have money and even if she did, it was only Water Tribe money. She watched as Chao went up to a counter to pay for the clothing and return back to her side. "This way, ma’lady. There’s a nice restaurant just around the corner." said the male as he offered his arm as soon they started heading to the designated place. Oceanus held onto his arm once again and clutched onto it whenever people got too close or didn't give her room to walk normally along the side. They finally arrived at the restaurant. She looked around, as if she was trying to memorize the place. He lead the princess to the counter where Chao nodded to the clerk and then lead her to a table for two and seater her. She nodded her thanks to her butler and watched as he sat across from her. "They… kind of know me here. I ordered you what I usually get, Ma’lady. I pray that’s ok… If not, I’ll get you whatever you wish."

The princess smiled. "That's fine, I wouldn't know what to get anyways. Everything here is unfamiliar to me. Even with the way I'm treated now." said the female quietly and shyly. She didn't know why she was so darn happy around him. She placed her hand in her lap and looked down, nervously fidgeting with her hands and her dress once again. The princess continued to smile gently, her cheeks still holding a rosy shade. She glanced at Chao but for some reason she felt nervous around him now. Why was that? Her heart is beating hard too. She got a funny feeling in her stomach. Oceanus continued to look away from Chao on purpose. It was the only way that she discovered to still her heartbeat and all of the other things. She was awfully quiet now.
